Frequently Asked Questions
Answers for SMEs, partners, and everyone who wants to trade with confidence.
A: TradeBridge is designed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) — exporters, importers, manufacturers, and distributors — that trade, or want to trade, across borders. Larger businesses can also join, but SMEs are at the center of our platform.
A: You can still register and create your profile. While live trading currently focuses on these regions, businesses outside them are welcome to join early. Having verified SMEs — along with trusted partners like freight forwarders, customs brokers, and insurers — makes it easier for us to open new corridors. Early registration ensures your business is visible and prioritized as we expand globally.
A: Registration gives you visibility in the marketplace, but verification unlocks more features. Verified businesses can build trust faster, trade more confidently, and access finance, logistics, and insurance when live trading begins in January 2026.
A: TradeBridge uses a staged verification process: Registered (Basic profile created), Verified (Business documents approved), Trade Verified (Proof of trading activity provided), and Finance Ready (Enhanced checks completed, unlocking access to finance, insurance, and escrow).
A: Registration is currently free. Some services (finance, insurance, logistics) will include transaction-based fees when live trading begins.
A: TradeBridge supports legitimate goods in regulated categories. Businesses trading prohibited or restricted goods under international trade law cannot join. Additional sector-specific guidelines will be shared as corridors expand.
A: Once verified as Finance Ready, SMEs can apply for trade finance through our integrated platform. You can also book FCL, LCL, air cargo, and multimodal routes directly through trusted freight forwarders, carriers, and transport providers.
A: TradeBridge uses escrow-style digital settlement. Payments are only released when agreed milestones are met, protecting both importers and exporters. Cargo and credit insurance provide an extra layer of protection.
A: TradeBridge partners with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, transport providers, insurers, and financial institutions, as well as Export Promotion Agencies (EPAs), Chambers of Commerce, Manufacturers’ Associations, and Special Economic Zones (SEZs). Development partners such as DFIs and donors are also welcome.
A: TradeBridge integrates your services into a verified marketplace where SMEs actively seek logistics and trade solutions. By partnering, you gain access to new clients, expand into multiple corridors, and operate within a trusted, digital-first trade environment.
A: These institutions can partner with us to provide their members access to a trusted marketplace, affordable logistics, insurance, and finance. In turn, TradeBridge helps boost exports, expand sourcing options, and increase competitiveness for your members.
A: For ecosystem partners (FFs, brokers, insurers, banks), we require business credentials, service coverage, and compliance documentation. Integration can start with a simple profile listing and expand to full digital integration (e.g., API or workflow connection).
A: Businesses can register and get verified now. Live trading with access to finance, logistics, and insurance will begin in January 2026.
A: Traditional platforms are often fragmented or built for large enterprises. TradeBridge is built for SMEs and brings together marketplace, finance, logistics, insurance, and secure payments in one corridor. This makes global trade simpler, safer, and more affordable.
A: Yes. While SMEs are our core focus, larger businesses can also benefit from access to our verified network and simplified trade flows.
A: TradeBridge operates globally. The parent company is TradeBridge Holdings Inc., with TradeBridge Finance Limited dedicated to trade finance. We work with partners across Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, the US, and Canada — and will expand into new corridors as trusted partnerships are built.
A: TradeBridge does not support businesses involved in prohibited or restricted goods under international trade law, nor partners without proper compliance and licensing. Protecting SMEs and maintaining trust is central to our platform.
